I was adopted as an infant and was raised in an amazing home with wonderful parents and one brother (also adopted). By 2015 they are all deceased and my immediate family was gone. I did 23 and Me and also Ancestry. While on Ancestry I found Leslie as one of my matches. I saw that he had a very large family tree on the site, which was very impressive. I was really curious on how I fit in on that tree. I had previously reached out to the adoption agency that I was placed at to see if I could get information on my biological family. The records in Florida are sealed so that was not going to be possible. Through the help of Leslie, I went on to find all of my biological siblings. I went from being the oldest of 2 to the youngest of 7. What a wonderful blessing. Unfortunately two sisters on my fathers side passed away but I found another sister and a brother on that side and two sisters on my mothers side. Leslie and I are related on my father Edward Briede’s side. My brother Tommy remembers growing up with a Blackburn aunt, uncle and cousins in New Jersey. I will forever be grateful to Leslie for helping me find my place on my biological family tree.
